The Elimination Diet Protocol
Systematically get to the bottom of what foods you need to limit and avoid to feel your best + scripts to help you feel more connected with the people around you while you’re on this diet without being “that person”.
Many conditions- like IBS- are thought to be a functional problem, treated with medication and strict avoidance.
But they can also simply be a response from your body to irritants as a way of keeping you safe.
Learning how your body responds best can be an empowering experience because you have the awareness to reduce exposure to these triggers and relieve chronic symptoms.

Pre-recorded video content is divided into 4 phases delivered over twelve weeks to reduce overwhelm and keep you on track. Each phase is designed to address the most common social, emotional, and mental challenges at each stage of the journey so you know exactly what to expect (and for about how long) so the process feels smooth for you.
-
✺
Extra resources include useful strategies to support healthy digestion, how to build a Safe Foods List worksheet so you know precisely what to include and avoid (without the overwhelm). Plus recommended resources so you feel well-informed and connected to recipes, communities, and helpful topics like food safety.

We have an emotional component involved in our relationship with food and changing food rarely happens in a vacuum. This content dives deep into the emotional speedbumps so you know how to navigate them without letting them derail your progress.
Plus exact scripts to help you navigate new social situations (getting more support, requesting special preparation, and ideas to maintain your social well-being without food, etc).
What’s inside
Included: the system to determine what to eat, access to additional resources, recipes and menu ideas, and scripts to navigate social situations (family meals, dining out, etc) in each phase.
Phase 1: Prepare
Understand what you need to accomplish during this time so you can make the most of your effort and use your own creativity to find new strategies and solutions.
You’ll know what to expect- mentally, emotionally, and in your day to day routine- so you can begin preparing yourself to be the most successful.
Phase 2: Eliminate
This phase often feels cumbersome to clients so I’ve included an exact map of what is happening and how to get the most out of the data you gather (so you don’t have to repeat this part).
Phase 3: Reintroduce
This phase may be the most important and yet people throw in the towel just before they cross the finish line because they are tired. Let’s do this together so you can reap all the reward (information) you need to build a plan that helps you feel better!
Phase 4: Maintain
Know exactly what you need to keep in and out of your diet (and an estimate of how long) so you are allowing your body to heal without over-eliminating your favorite foods.

This program is based on 7+ years of coaching people at different stages of this process. If you are recently diagnosed with a condition that would benefit from an elimination diet, it's likely that is all the information you received. This is intended to give you clear, actionable steps to keep you "out of the weeds".
This is NOT for you if you have not been in contact with a medical professional to rule out or clarify underlying conditions. It will likely not be harmful but may be unnecessary.
-
I do not infer any direct causation and the client takes all responsibility for the implementation of the information.
But because our body is a complex system, I find that it is almost impossible to change one thing without seeing the impact in other systems. Therefore, it is safe to assume, this approach will likely have other benefits than reducing the initial symptoms. As your body (specifically your gut) heals and you continue to eat foods that help you feel your best, the outcomes can be dramatic.
-
While you don't need a referral, as I am not making any specific dietary recommendations, simply outlining the process and sharing tips to navigate based on observed experiences of other patients, I always advise following up with a medical professional and working with your Doctor to yield the best results.

This course is intended to be a high-level overview of what steps are needed to find the foods that help you feel best.
-This is not a personalized meal plan (sample menus are available on the sites I include) because there are many considerations- many of which we will be discovering during this process- before you can build a custom diet.
-This can be completed as a group and I am happy to discuss facilitating that but additional community support can be located in the links I include in Additional Resources.
-1:1 coaching is not included in the price of the self-study course but can be scheduled via email (CSchandNutrition@gmail.com).

I have the content divided into comfortable segments based on a realistic healing timeline. I plan for about 12 weeks total, although you may find yourself progressing more quickly or slowly depending on the severity of your symptoms and previous insights.
I recommend planning for 30 minutes at the beginning of each phase to watch the intro video so you have an understanding of what is to be expected and make plans to ease the implementation process. -
I’ve built this program to give you the overview so you can apply the concept to any situation but the two examples I use are Interstitial Cystitis and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
